Revival, the Pope and prayer
Well, Revival has swept through Jena, LA. After nine weeks the meetings have stopped, but the spirit lingers. Revival seems to be sprinkled around our parish as well. Numerous stories have been shared with me about how God it at work changing hearts. I want that so much for our little church I could bust. The roots of grudges run very deep at our church. We have numerous people who won't serve on a committee if so and so is on it. We have some members who do not talk with each other. It's truly sad. We are in a desperate need of a touch from a Holy, mighty and loving God. He is at work all around us. I am reaching with more boldness than I ever have. I truly feel as if i have been revived. I want so badly for others to be this way. We are going to pray as a church for God to move. I have this feeling, this excitement inside. I have never felt like this before. God is our only hope. He's the only one who can change the hearts of people. Pray for us.
The Pope is back in Rome. He came to visit and left us with a lot of good quotes, some of which I have shared in a few sermons. We truly do live in a state of "forgetfulness of God."
Pray for our church and your church and for yourself. Pray and talk with God. Get back into a growing relationship with Him. Do it today, do it now.
